Welcome to Kin Kin, Noosa Hinterland

Kin Kin is a small, rural town situated in the Noosa Hinterland between Gympie to the west and the Great Sandy National Park to the north. It is the major freshwater catchment for the Noosa River System situated to the north-west of the Shire. It forms part of Queensland’s first UNESCO Biosphere.

Kin Kin derives its name from the original naming of the “King King Creek”, mapped by surveyors in the early 1800s. The Kin Kin valley township itself was founded in 1902 and is steeped in dairy history.

Today it is home to a small community of residents including artists, artisans, foodies and nature lovers.

From Pomona - 15 min drive

The closest town to Kin Kin, follow the signs.

From Noosa - 40 min drive

Enjoy a scenic drive through the Noosa Hinterland, via McKinnon Dr and Dr Pages Rd.

From Sunshine Coast Airport - 50 min drive

Take the Bruce Highway north, exit at Pomona and follow the signs to Kin Kin.

From Brisbane - 2 hr drive

Meeting point for your experience is ...

Once you reach the Kin Kin turnoff, take the very first turn onto Old Wahpungah Road when you see the Kin Kin Hotel. Please park at the Kin Kin Sportsground Oval, 200 metres down Old Wahpunga Road near the skatepark.
